System.Web.UI.UpdatePanel does not have a public property named Login

I am trying to wrap an updatepanel in a login wizard and it is giving me the error described in the subject.

Am I doing something incorrectly.

From other posts that I have read this is possible.

Does anyone have an ideas.

It would be greatly appreciated.

it must be inside of<ContentTemplate>from theUpdatePanel, did you checked that?
Thanks for the information

Try this

<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel 1" UpdateMode="Conditional" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>

<asp:Login ID="Login1" runat="server" ></asp:Login>

</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>

Tab Container Error after a Refresh

I have a tab container with two tab panels inside of it, and they work perfectly well the first time the page is loaded. If I hit refresh (not post back I am talking F5 or the browser refresh button) the page loads up except for the tab container which does not show up.

The error I receive in IE is the following

Line: 6
Char 31345
Error: Object Expected

When I run this in Firefox and check the error in FireBug It tells me the following error occurred

h is not a constructor

createCallback(undefined,Object,null,Object,div#ctl00_mainContent1_ComparisonPieCharts1_TabContainer1_PublisherTab)ScriptResource.ax... (line 5)

(no name)()default.aspx (line 988)

createCallback(Object _disposableObjects=[2] _components=Object,Object)ScriptResource.ax... (line 5)

createCallback()ScriptResource.ax... (line 5)

createCallback()ScriptResource.ax... (line 5)

Thanks in advance for your help,

Brendan

I set my ScriptMode for my scriptmanager to Debug and now I found that the error message is really

Sys.ArgumentUndefinedException: Value cannot be undefined.Parameter name: type

Sys$CultureInfo$_getAbbrMonthIndex("")ScriptResource.ax... (line 5762)

{name: "element", mayBeNull: true, domElement: true, optional: true}

Hi Brendan,

Can you post a simple repro of your issue?

Tab Container Javascript Error: Unspecified Error

I keep getting this error when I try to view a certain page with IE7. I do not get the error with Firefox 2. I have two pages that have tabs, but only receive an error on one of them. It occasionally works with no problems. If I set the first panel's visible property to false, then it works fine. The first panel contains an 2 update panels with a filtered text boxes, an update panel with a calendar extender, and an update panel with a mask edit extender and mask edit valuator. I also use framesets. Could any of this be causing the error? Does anyone know a work around?

I have found that the Masked Edit Extender is causing the error. Can I use this inside a tab panel? Is there something special I need to do to use it? If it's not possible, does anyone know of anything similar that would work in its place?

Tab Control Error

Friends,

I am using Tab Control(developed using ATLAS,downloaded from net) in my project, it working fine.But when the Session has expired, if I click any Links on the page, will redirect to Login Page. But while clicking the Tabs in the Tab Control, its throwing an Unknown Error through Alert box.

Any Help, Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Vasanth

Is the Tab control visible depending on the session and user? Did you add this tab control in a usercontrol so you can post it here? I would like to test it. I use that control quite a lot without any problem.

Tab control Error

I am new to AJAX, I have downloaded the ASP.Net AJAX and installed it also add dll to my Visual Studio Environment Now I need to use tab control but when I place it on my VS Environment It gives me an errorError Rendering Controlall other controls are working. Can you please advice me.

Regards,

Asif

i got this error too.. what you have to do is open your source code and re-arrange the tags like following:

<asp:ScriptManagerid="ScriptManager1"runat="server">
</asp:ScriptManager>

<cc1:TabContainerID="TabContainer1"runat="server">
<cc1:TabPanelID="TabPanel1"HeaderText="your header text #1"runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<!--

your web form controls goes here

-->

</ContentTemplate>
</cc1:TabPanel><cc1:TabPanelID="TabPanel2"HeaderText="your header text #2"runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<!--

your web form controls goes here

-->

</ContentTemplate>
</cc1:TabPanel>
</cc1:TabContainer><br/>

the panel control must be inside in TabContainer control

Tab Control Disappears when passing parameter to JavaScript function

Hello everybody!

I have a quite strange error on my hands here. And just to explain, this is what I want to do:

I created a tab control (AJAX) by:

"privatevoid constructTabs()

{

AjaxControlToolkit.TabContainer myTabs=new AjaxControlToolkit.TabContainer();

myTabs.Tabs.Add(loadPanel("NameOfTabGoesHere")); //this is donen times

myTabs.ActiveTab = productTabs.Tabs[0]; //to set the first tab as the active tab

myTabs.OnClientActiveTabChanged = "inVisiblePlans('" +myTabs.ActiveTab.ID.ToString() + "')"; //inVisiblePlans is my javascript function

Panel newPanel =newPanel();

newPanel.Controls.Add(productTabs);

this.Controls.Add(newPanel);

}

"

the function works ok but the problem is, the tab controls cannot be seen? it(the panel) is actually rendered with "hidden" attribute. And the strange thing is, if I domyTabs.OnClientActiveTabChanged = "inVisiblePlans";

The panels are visible but the page is of course useless.

All help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks is advance

Eduardo

Hello again.. about 15 minutes after I posted my question.. I got the answer myself... *slaps himself on the foreheadStick out tongue

instead of usingOnClientActiveTabChanged , I used this:

tabPanel.OnClientClick ="function(){inVisiblePlans('" + tabPanel.ID.ToString() +"');}";

everytime I add a tabPanel.

meaning:

I did not attach the javascript to the whole tabcontrol but attached a call to it in every panel and it works fine now. Am still wondering tho, why the first idea did not work.

Am posting this for all who experience the same problem.

Many thanks!

TabContainer - Two Components with the same id error

Hi. I've loaded the most recent AJAX Controls Toolkit and am using a TabContainer and TabPanels. I try to run a report from Oracle by clicking on an image button elsewhere on the screen, which should (and does) cause the report to be generated. It then is to switch TabPanels and show the report. At that point, I get:

Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Two components with the same id 'TabContainer1_TabPanel1' can't be added to the application.

I've researched on the forums and found a few proposed fixes to this issue. Unfortunately, none of them seem to work. Has anyone seen this with the TabContainer, and is there a fix? If I set debug=false in the web.config it goes away, but I realize that isn't truly a solution.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I am having similar problem. My case was, I have a user control that contains MultipleSelectorExtender from ajax control toolkit. On my page, I need to hide and show this user control on a specific event. The first time I set the Visible property of this user control that contains the MultipleSelectorExtender, I am not getting any error. The next time that I attempted to set the visible property of the usercontrol to true, I got the error message "Sys.InvalidOperationException: Two componnents with same id '<multipleselectorextender's Id>' can't be added to the application."

It seems that the component was recreated again when the container wast set to visible.

Have you found solution to your problem? If so, kindly post it here.

TabContainer and TabPanel - Error Rendering Control, An unhandled exception has occurred.

I get this error in the designer when I place either TabContainer or TabPanel on any page in my project. I also get it if I look at the Tabs.aspx page in the toolkit sample website that comes with the source code. This has been happening for a while now and is rather anoying.

Anyone else get this error in the designer?

I only get it on the TabPanel
No resolution found yet

Are you saying that if you open Tabs.aspx from the SampleWebsite in the designer you get this error? Or when you run the page?

In either case, I don't see the problem. More info might help narrow it down.

Yes you do get this error if you have no ScriptManager control on your page. I assume you did the obvious and add one. Otherwise you've got an installation problem, because it works for me.

As of the Latest Release 23/01/2007 the errors are gone.Smile

I'm looking at putting together a bit of a better designer for tabs hopefully for the next release.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to the next release.

Currently, I'm experiencing the same error with the latest release.

Have you tried the following:

Make sure there is a ScriptManager as the top most component of the page or if you have a ScriptManager on a MasterPage then make sure it is before your Content areas.

I am also haveing the same issue. I started a new AJAX Website from the template provided and when I drag a tab panel onto the page I get the above error. I don't have an old version since I just downloaded it today.

Did anyone figure out the solution to this? I too downloaded a new version, only this tool is still giving me a problem by not working at all.

TabContainer Causes An Error When Rendering

I have been using theTabContainer for the past several months and like the way it works. After upgrading to the most recent version of the toolkit I now get an error when rendering any page that has a TabContainer. I updated the DLL's in my bin folder. The toolkit sample website works ok.

I tested with a page that has no other TabContainers, just the segment shown below and continue to get the error.

<ajaxToolkit:TabContainerID="TabContainer1"runat="server">

<ajaxToolkit:TabPanelID="TabPanel1"runat="server">

<ContentTemplate>

</ContentTemplate>

</ajaxToolkit:TabPanel>

</ajaxToolkit:TabContainer>

Is ther something I need to do to the web.config file 0r is there some other issue?

Error...

{"The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>)."}

The error occures in ScriptObjectBuilder at the hightlighted line shown below...

public

staticvoid RegisterCssReferences(Control control)
{
foreach (string styleSheetin ScriptObjectBuilder.GetCssReferences(control))
{
// Add the link to the page header instead of inside the body which is not xhtml compliant
HtmlLink link =new HtmlLink();
link.Href = styleSheet;
link.Attributes.Add("type","text/css");
link.Attributes.Add("rel","stylesheet");
control.Page.Header.Controls.Add(link);
}
}

This has been resolved... please follow this link for the answer...
